Born in Argentina, Walter moved to California when he was two years old. He became interested in music at age 10, when he began to study trumpet. At 17 he became part of his first pop/rock band in Cupertino, CA as a singer, and then began to play guitar and piano (which he learned mostly from his mother, who was a piano teacher in Argentina).
To date, he has produced three albums of original material: Bring Protection with the band "Who Cares" (San Luis Obispo, California); In Search of Michigan J, a solo project (also in California), and most recently The Parrot's Shell, another solo project released in Argentina, where he resided from 2001 until 2014.
In Argentina he performed primarily in Buenos Aires and “Zona Sur” (the area south of Buenos Aires) as a solo acoustic artist, as well as with his band “Strawmakers”. The band was formed at the end of 2010, where he sang lead vocals, and played guitar, piano, and trumpet. He also played lead trumpet and sang in a 20-piece Big Band (“BigJazzBand”). On top of all this he founded a music school; “La Fabrica De Musicos”.
Currently, he arranges music for string and horn sections, creates compositions for commercial purposes, performs translations and voice-overs, and offers consultation and production services and workshops for musicians and musical groups. Oh, and of course he keeps playing.
Having recently returned to California from Argentina, Walter is currently focusing on performing solo in local venues while he completes his original material for his next release.
With a repertoire of more than 150 covers, and three albums' worth of original material, Walter's acoustic shows can be anything from background dinner music to a full-on, knock-down, drag-out, kick-in-the-teeth rock and roll show with all the benefits and responsibilities that this entails.
